The Oregon Cheese Festival kicks off Saturday. Along with cheese, you’ll also be tasting wine and beer. The festival attracts thousands of people every year. The cheese festival gets underway on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Rogue Creamery. Everyone gets in for $15. Children 12 and under get in for free. A wine flight will cost you $10.
Some big city musicians are making their first stop in Medford on an Oregon tour. “Shotgun Wedding” will be performing on Friday at the Craterian Theater. The country band comes from New York City and each musician has worked with some big pop and rock stars. That includes Bill Joel, Hall and Oats and Bon Jovi. Adult tickets run from $19 to $25.the show is Friday at 7:30.
Grants Pass High School orchestra students are hoping you can help them play their way to Carnegie Hall. The students are hoping to go to the New York International Music Festival there. That’s why they’re holding a benefit concert this weekend. It’s happening on Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m. It will be at Brookdale Grants Pass Springs on Redwood Circle. All of the proceeds go to the orchestra’s trip to New York.
For the first time ever, all five choirs of the Rogue Valley Chorale Association are coming together for a performance. 300 hundred voices from all ages will celebrate the joy of singing this Saturday from 2 to 7:30 p.m. at the Craterian Theater.
You can get outside and enjoy the sunshine with a free game of footgolf Saturday. Ashland Parks and Rec is hosting the event on the Oak Knoll Golf Course from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. The game combines soccer and golf; it corresponds with golf rules, but is played with a soccer ball and shortened holes. Footgolfers are encouraged to bring a regulation number 5 soccer ball, and to wear soft-soled shoes, no cleats. Free snacks and beverages will be provided. Local wine and beer will be available for purchase.
